Dubuque, Iowa maintains an historic position on the Mississippi's 'Great River Road.' At the city's center stood the timeworn Hotel Julien Dubuque. One hundred years of service had diminished the property, and the hotel’s ownership group enlisted IDM to revive the property to better meet the expectations of today’s business traveler and leisure guest.
The renovation and restoration effort began in 2007 and totaled over $33 million. IDM managed the development team and repositioned the hotel in the market. Hotel Julien Dubuque reopened in 2009 as a full-service hotel with 133 rooms, more than 15,000 square feet of meeting an banquet space, two food & beverage outlets (Caroline's and Riverboat Lounge) and Potosa Spa.
Not only did the hotel improve its standing, but it has served as a springboard for robust growth and development throughout downtown Dubuque. Today, the hotel offers the highest level of service and accommodations in the Tri-State area and outperforms its competition in daily rate, revenue, and revPAR.
