Springfield, MO – August 18th, 2017
Hotel Vandivort, 2016 BLLA Boutique Hotel of the Year and the first and only Four Diamond AAA hotel in Springfield, Missouri, has named Zackary Oxley general manager. Oxley comes to Missouri from Punta Gorda, Florida, where he served as the general manager for the luxury Wyvern Hotel. Originally from New York, Oxley’s transition to the Midwest region is a timely one.
“We are incredibly excited for the addition of Zackary to our very passionate and talented team,” said co-owner John McQueary. “His experience and personality will certainly enhance the Hotel Vandivort experience to both our guests and staff.”
Oxley has had experience in varying degrees of operations, sales, and food & beverage. Prior to joining the Wyvern Hotel, Oxley held general manager positions at two additional full service hotels in both the New York and Massachusetts markets. His combined 14 years of hospitality experience and recent success in repositioning and growth made him a stand out choice for the role.
“The general manager role is critical to the culture of service and hospitality,” adds Becky Rogers, Vice President of Operations at IDM Hospitality, a boutique hotel management company that oversaw the development of the property and provides on-going management of the operation. “We are confident that Zackary will bring a gracious and inspiring leadership style for the team and the community.”
As Hotel Vandivort enters its third year of operation, Oxley will be directing a team of 70 in a hospitality-rich Springfield market. Renowned for fabulous food, it’s community-centric programming, heightened service levels and the best regional bathroom selfies, Oxley will have a busy agenda as he plans his start in September.
Located in the heart of Springfield at 305 E. Walnut, the sophisticated and design-inspired Hotel Vandivort is a key part of the city’s ongoing downtown renaissance. Through a complete restoration of the 1906 Masonic Temple, Hotel Vandivort and its signature restaurant, The Order,
have been created as a cultural hub and gathering place for Springfield-area residents as well as an upscale lodging option for visitors. The property offers 36 high-design guest rooms, 12 suites and two premiere suites.
