Director of Food and Beverage
As a Wisconsin native with over 37 years of professional hospitality and food and beverage leadership, David Ross has helmed numerous Southern Wisconsin resorts and clubs, including Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, WI; Geneva National in Lake Geneva, WI; The Abbey Resort in Fontana, WI; and The Americana Lake Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, WI. During his tenure as executive chef, David developed his unique style of “Heartland American Cuisine” by borrowing from his diverse experiences working across the United States, from Washington, D.C. to San Diego. The cornerstone of David’s style is the use of fresh, local, sustainable, and native ingredients. David is even an avid beekeeper, producing hyper-local honey and fresh culinary herbs that are served at numerous operations in Wisconsin.
David has won numerous industry awards, including the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation (WRA EF) Chef of the year in 2015, the WRA EF Mentor of the Year in 2008, and the American Culinary Foundation – Geneva Lakes Chapter Chef of the Year in 1999 and 2008.
David’s passion for the culinary arts extends to his passion for passing on the skill of cooking. He has mentored the Lake Geneva Badger High School Culinary and Management teams in the National Restaurant Association ProStart Program, while also guiding them to state and national titles. David also sits on the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation Board of Directors and serves as Chairman of the Gateway Technical College Culinary Hospitality Program Advisory Board.
