MARSHFIELD – Locals don’t have to go far to have a relaxing getaway, as Hotel Marshfield offers a variety of tranquil spa options.

With the summer weather set to sizzle many friends and family may be making a trip to Wisconsin Dells.

But, a relatively unknown gem is available at Hotel Marshfield, 2700 S. Central Ave., general manager Cory Latourell said. She called the opportunity for a  ‘stay-cation’ option for locals, which features a spa in the courtyard.

Among the spa features: a sauna, hot tubs, a cool-down pool, a fire pit and more.

“It’s such a cool space but a lot of people locally even don’t know about it,” Latourell said. “There aren’t really any outdoor pools in downtown Marshfield. Our pool is not open to the public, but it is a nice option for guests looking to have a relaxing family getaway right here in Marshfield.”

The courtyard includes hot and cool soaks with massaging jets, a dry sauna, and a pool with fountains. The fire pit area seats up to 14 people, and guests can order food from the hotel’s restaurant to be served poolside. New options are available as well; the hotel’s restaurant, Libby McNeill’s, has updated its menu.

Some of the added menu items include a margarita flatbread appetizer, buffalo chicken poutine with cheese curds, tequilla lime chicken fettuccine and a Wisconsin prime cubano, which is sliced prime rib sandwich and Wisconsin cheddar cheese. Libby McNeill’s have also added a couple taps — from four to six — adding interesting local brews that are changed out regularly.

The hot and cool soaks and sauna are open year-round in the spa, with the pool open through September.

“When we designed this we called it the ‘Northwoods backyard,'” Latourell said.

Live acoustic music takes place every Wednesday also, Latourell said.

“When planning for the complete renovation of this property three years ago, we focused on delivering unexpected touches that you’d typically find only at metropolitan hotels or countryside spa resorts,” Latourell said “The courtyard is the perfect example of that, with ours a tranquil Northwoods version of relaxation and stress relief.”

Overnight guests have unlimited complementary access to the courtyard and the pools are open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
